Every year, 500,000 tonnes of textiles are discarded to landfill. While many fabrics have established donation and recycling methods, there’s one type of fabric which typically isn’t considered recyclable - our sheets.
Sheridan decided to take the lead, introducing a category first recycling program and expanding into sustainable products. But to encourage people to think twice about their shopping behaviours, we decided to make think twice about how they see nature itself.
By transforming Sheridan sustainable fabrics into effortless artistic symbols for sustainability, we showed the public the potential of recycling their sheets - even discarded linen can make something beautiful.
The world’s glaciers are the canary in the coalmine. The frontline where we can witness the change in the planet’s ecosystems before our eyes. A glorious image where the ornate pattern of our Sandlerling QC perfectly match the unique textures and patterns found in glaciers. A fitting use of a product which is made from a fully renewable source.
The famous blue marble photograph is one of the strongest symbols of the frailty of the environment. Our interpretation brings us closer to earth, placing it’s beauty within reach.
The iconic Great Dividing Range is one of Australia’s most visible examples of conservation. A familiar sight for most Australians - the colour and the topography of this impressive range, which stretches from Cape York to the Victorian Highlands.
Fresh water. The most precious resource we have. Our image has been created to dramatise its mesmerising beauty, and draw attention to the scarcity of this invaluable asset the planet provides us all.
The natural beauty of sweeping dunes of sand is the perfect accompaniment to our range of landscapes, looking almost like casually draped bed linen. Our composition has been created to tell the story of our support for environmental initiatives, supporting animal shelters and zoos.
Each visual represents the diverse parts of nature we need to protect, while demonstrating Sheridan’s commitment to creating products that sustain and support the beauty of nature. Captured in camera, the remarkable images were created using a combination of model-making, atmospheric effects and synchronised lighting techniques. With only minor additions, such as clouds and colour corrections, made to the final image. Our campaign encourages people to think twice about how they see nature and how they will shop in future.
